Welcome to the music page of guitarist and composer James R. Thomas

James R. Thomas is an instrumental, cinematic one-man-band style artist whose passionate, emotive and powerful guitar journeys bring an unforgettable experience to all who listen. His original music simultaneously weaves beautiful harmonies, captivating storytelling, masterful exploration of the sounds of the guitar, foot percussion and much more that all impressively combine into thunderous epics that takes listeners on a truly unique and thought-provoking journey.  James also brings the deep, rich and resonant sound of the Yidaki (Didgeridoo) to his performances with a focus on capturing tribal energy and earthly-connection  - making the experience, as a whole, one that encourages deep introspection yet wholly brings communities together with a strong sense of peace and oneness.

Predominantly a fingerstyle guitarist, James travelled with his guitar for a number of years whilst being  influenced by a number of different cultures and styles that have now crafted his extremely unique style: modern and classical fingerstyle guitar in many different forms, the folk aspect of his strong Welsh background and heritage, the Yidaki (Didgeridoo) from his four-year journey throughout Australia, flutes from the lands of Korea and Japan, and World music in general. This combination, along with an impressive array of musical effects and experienced storytelling, has cultivated James' epic, cinematic and powerful way of playing into an unforgettable journey.

"You have the Forest in your fingers." was once said by the Indigenous people in Australia's Daintree Rainforest as testament to the power of the music.

Witnessing James' music first-hand is a transportational experience that will leave
listener's souls nourished and spirits lifted.
